What We Do
Hand in Hand Senior Placement is a free guidance service, assisting families in eastern Ohio and western Pennsylvania who are searching for independent living, personal care, assisted living, or Alzheimer’s care. We work to eliminate the task of researching and contacting facilities that can’t meet the medical or financial needs of the client, while guiding families through the decision-making process.
Assess Medical Needs
- Is socialization a concern?
- Has medication management become an issue?
- Are assistive devices (cane, walker, wheelchair, etc) in use?
- Have you noticed changes in behaviors, memory or hygiene?
Discuss Financials
- What is your loved one’s income (social security, pensions, etc.)
- Is he or she a veteran or a widow of a veteran? If so, is the VA Aid and Attendance pension applicable?
- Does your loved one have Long Term Care insurance?
Review Preferences
- Are you willing to consider facilities outside of your zip code?
- Do you need a pet-friendly community?
- Are activities important?
- Would you prefer a private or semi-private room style?
